"Other Projects" moved to a new page
I have moved the recent info about Everything, Extra! to a new "Other Projects" page to try and keep this blog simple.
There will be info on the new page about some other projects I have planned for this year, so if you're interested please check over at Sideroom Other Projects.
Some other things starting up via that blog are
more eps of "Everything, Extra!" - on a purely ad hoc basis
"Besides, B-sides are Better..." - dedicated to B-sides of 12" & 7" singles ( "thematically" )
"Outside The Trains" - a currently secret "in the works" project exclusively looking at UK Indie bands ( more revealed soon )

Everything, Alright! #17
Hi again :)
First up a clip by Alpaca Sports
firstly with the exciting news there will be a Cloudberry release later in the year for Alpaca Sports ( including "She'll Come Back For Indian Summer" ) but also a timely reminder of their current 7" "I Was Running" being out now and available from 3 labels - Dufflecoat, Luxury & Susy Recs.
On today's mix we start off in Austin, Texas for Mini-Dresses ( a semi hush-hush side project of another band with the same duo, whose identity I'm sworn to secrecy on..., but I will give you a clue, the name begins with an "S" ). A trip over to their bandcamp will sort you out with a 2 track single and 5 track mini-album - well worth the journey indeed :)
We have a a few from Japan today - Jolie Joli ( a 3 piece girl group ) with a Lush cover, Civic, and Old Lacy Bed ( aka Tomomi Sadakata ) & Homecomings, ( quote - 'kyoto, girls, indie, guitar pop' - unquote), the last 2 from an absolutely brilliant comp of Japanese bands out from Ano(t)raks called "Soon VA", you can get the comp from their bc.
A few of my countrymates in Some Jerks ( Brisbane ) a track from their upcoming album called "Buddy Rich Made Me Cry" album & Greyjoy ( Perth ), from a forthcoming ep of theirs.
Some French bands - Judy ( from Reims ), who have a free d/l album called "Maquette Maison" available on their bc & Soft Pastels ( Dijon )
Flowers I hope you know & love - and if so I'm sure you'll be watching out for their upcoming 4 track ep on Cloudberry, in the meantime there's a little interim gem of a download from them to be discovered on their bc.
Calm As The Colour are from Fife in Scotland and their latest release is an ep called "Tomorrow Belongs to A World Apart", again pop on over to their bc to get this one.
Triads are a 3 piece from Georgia & Star Horse are from Stockholm and have a 4 track ep out any day now called "Crush", pre-orders and preview track for those ordering from..yep..you guessed it, their bandcamp.
Orca Orca is the alias of Jimmy Hewitt outa Boston, who has a few releases up on his bc, todays' track "South Carolina" from the latest ep called Remnants.

Spook School is a 7" coming soon on Cloudberry ( who also have a Strange Idols comp and a new fanzine in the works ).
We Can't Help Ourselves are more NY-ers, a track today from their "Make a Mess Of Sacred Ground" which you can grab via iTunes

•• Hubbert's Bridge - Model Railway Exhibition
•• Not This Time - Apple Orchard
•• The Door Into Summer - Canopies and Drapes
•• I Heart You ( rough demo ) - The Hobbes Fanclub
•• His Gesture of Love - Love/Comes
•• Ideal Images - Tear Talk
•• Panorama - Some Gorgeous Accident
•• No End In Sight - Outerhope

•• Beatnik My Guest - Les Bicyclettes de Belsize

•• Daggers - Detective Agency
•• Drowning - I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
•• Visions - Buzz Kull
The 2nd Model Railway Exhibition ep "Lets Make A Vow" will be released shortly ( exact date still a mystery ). 4 of the 5 songs recorded before singer Vanessa left the band. The 3 songs thus far streamed from the ep on their Soundcloud sound pretty good, this one definitely on my "BuyMeAPie" future shopping list on my iPad.
As always Dufflecoat are on the money with another excellent forthcoming split release featuring Apple Orchard & The Proctors. Woah !! Get ready :) . Recent releases still available from Andy B/Sex Sux ( split ), Gentle Isolation & Silent Love.
"And Putting Love Away" is the name of a forthcoming cassette from Japan's Canopies and Drapes, a follow-up to last years release "Violet Lilly Rose Daisy"
A rough demo from The Hobbes Fanclub, one suspects something that may appear on the upcoming Shelflife release....insert cliche - "highly anticipated"... insert modern parlance - "mad good". Meantime as we wait, a couple of live videos on their ReverbNation page.
Love/Comes are 5 piece Malaysian band who released their debut "Paraphernalia" ep last year , self released ( a split with Partimelovers ). They have also put a great new track "Summer House" up for d/l on their bandcamp. "His Gesture of Love" was also on the SEA Indie Blog's Malaysia Indie Scene "Mighty Melody'" comp.
Tear Talk ( 4 piece from Liverpool ) had a bandcamp ep release earlier this year called "Port Sunlight" via Bleeding Gold, today's track "Ideal Image" is one of some more recent things they chucked up on their soundcloud.
Number Line Records is a label from Manila, their latest release being from Outerhope, an ep called "No End in Sight". They also released the excellent Some Gorgeous Accident "Imaginary Lines" ep last year, both eps ( and all the other Filipino bands on the label ) are available as free d/l either at the Number Line website or bandcamp.
"Fix Me Up" is a track on "Fountayne Mountain", the 2nd release from The See See, which has just been released, grab y'self a copy via 'ere
Khristine Anne is the latest Little Treasure, the 'Would You Like Some Tea" from Philippines band Archaster. Again another label always always on the money :)
Les Bicyclettes Del Belsize is the latest Charlie Darling outfit, turning out a bucketful / a swathe of pure pop via soundcloud, as always in a prolific yet mysterious fashion.
Post Modern Team hail from Osaka in Japan, who have released 3 free eps thus far via bandcamp, the latest "Never Let You Down" featuring today's Moz cover.
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream are from Berlin and earlier this year release a Self Titled 6 track ep on cassette ( and digi-form ), which is available via their bandcamp.
Buzz Kull are a post punk/darkwave duo from the afore mentioned currently bleak and raining Sydney, and so far have released a bandcamp ( free ) ep called "Fallen Flower"
